The search for consensus candidate of CUPP begins. The Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP which is made up of no fewer than  39 political parties including the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP embarks on analysis of facts and figures to determine who becomes the standard bearer for the coalition. The coalition, last Tuesday commenced the process of selecting a common presidential candidate to challenge the All Progressives Congress, APC. The opposition political parties who are forging an alliance under the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP met behind closed doors CUPP chieftains at the Tuesday meeting pledged their commitment to forging a common front ahead if 2019 to defeat APC. There shall now be full biometric accreditation of voters with Smart Card Readers and/or other technological devices, as INEC may introduce for elections from time to time. 2. Presiding Officers must now instantly transmit accreditation data and results from Polling Units to various collation centers. Presiding officer who contravene this shall be imprisoned for at least 5 years (no option of fine). 3. All Presiding Officer must now first record accreditation data and polling results on INEC’s prescribed forms before transmitting them. The data/result recorded must be the same with what they transmitted. 4. INEC now has unfettered powers to conduct elections by electronic voting. 5. The husband, upon entering the house, turned on the light to see clearly, and immediately there was an explosion that killed the man on the spot. The explosion also affected the wife who is currently in the ICU unit of a hospital. The baby, being far from the explosion, was saved. 2019: ADC Students' Wing reaffirms commitment to mobilize 15million votes for ADC. The national coordinator of ADC Students' Wing, Comr. Chukwunonso OFOMAH, Esq in a communique issued after the National Working Committee meeting, reaffirmed the promise of the group to mobilize 15 million votes for ADC ahead of 2019. The leader added that the group sees it as a duty to deliver the presidential candidate of ADC, Dr. Obadiah Mailafia. The group further expressed its commitment to the enlargement of the membership of the party by making the party more accessible to  students. Juliet Oloto, the group expresses its commitment to the enthronement of democracy in Enugu state adding that the present PDP administration in the state is a charade. She added that it has become necessary to join forces with like minds to end what she described as 'the period of suffering and starvation in Enugu state' occasioned by the present PDP administration. OYO is a stronghold of ADC. Jubilation everywhere as National Working Committee announces its gubernatorial candidate for Oyo state. The National Working Committee (NWC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), on Thursday, declared Senator Olufemi Lanlehin as the governorship candidate of the party in Oyo State. The atmosphere was agog with jubilation as party faithfuls express their happiness over the emergence of  Lanlehin. A statement signed by the party’s national publicity secretary, Mrs Yemi Kolapo, said the chairman, Screening and Primary Committee, Peter Oyewole, a lawyer, who announced the governorship candidate, said Lanlehin emerged the winner after “a keenly contested primary involving 13 aspirants.”
