The search for consensus candidate of CUPP begins.

The Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP which is made up of no fewer than  39 political parties including the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP embarks on analysis of facts and figures to determine who becomes the standard bearer for the coalition.

The coalition, last Tuesday commenced the process of selecting a common presidential candidate to challenge the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The opposition political parties who are forging an alliance under the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP met behind closed doors

CUPP chieftains at the Tuesday meeting pledged their commitment to forging a common front ahead if 2019 to defeat APC.

In attendance to the meeting include  about 39 chairmen of national political parties which are part of the coalition. The meeting also witnessed the attendance of  strategic partners in the coalition.

The chairman, steering committee of CUPP, Prince Onyinlola Olagunsoye who also chaired the meeting expressed confidence that the coalition is a party to defeat come 2019.

The meeting also had in attendance national chairman of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Chief Olu Falae, National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus , Reformed All Progressives Congress (R-APC) Chairman Buba Galadima , Chairman, National Intervention Movement, NIM Alhaji Tafawa Belewa, and many others.

Ikenga Ugochinyere, one of the chieftains of the coalition movement, stated that the various parties in the coalition would highlight the chances of all the candidates at the poll before settling for a consensus candidate.

 It is expected that the exercise will end successfully as Nigerians are waiting to know who finally faces APC at the presidential elections come 2019.
